While saunas are not as commonly available in the USA, many hotels and health clubs offer sauanas. Based on this study and others, it may be a good choice to take advantage of those.
Researchers have found that using a sauna regularly can cut the risk of high blood pressure by almost half. Finnish scientists identified a 24 per cent reduction in risk among middle-aged men who took a sauna two or three times per week, while for those going four to seven times a week dropped to 46 per cent. Experts believe the way that blood vessels expand when the body is hotter may explain the results.
