GET TO KNOW YOUR MIND AND HOW IT WORKS

2/26/2022

Become acquainted with your mind.  Get to know it.  Are you prone to impatience and anger? Do you compare yourself to others?  Are you highly self-critical?  Do you react emotionally, explosively?  Are you a person who transitions from trauma to drama rapidly? Do small life ripples trigger larger waves?  It’s always a wise practice to spend some become aware of your mental patterns and conditioned responses.  Once you know your mind and how it operates, only then can you manage it and shape into a skillful tool for living.  The end result for you will be a happier, more peaceful life. -VMP

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

2/24/2022

Yoga prevents the premature grey in your hair, the ugly wrinkles in your face. It tightens those sagging muscles that give you that 'tired look.'  It puts new a zest in your appetite, brings back the sparkle in your eyes - gives that wonderful sensation of feeling 'fit as a fiddle'.  - Desmond Dunne

Integrate the smile into your life, smiling all the time, smiling each and every moment. By smiling you relax your heart and mind. Smiling softens and opens you. - Guo Jun

We must admit that very often we are afraid or ashamed to look at our own minds. So we prefer to avoid it. - Walpola Rahula

THE IMPORTANCE OF INNER FLOURISHING

2/20/2022

Why do some men become wiser and kinder as they age while others become insensitive and indifferent? Why do some women develop the capacity to creatively deal with adversity while others give up and collapse. Why do some people continuously experience increasing joy and happiness while others become more anxious, stressed and unhappy?

The difference has to do with inner flourishing, the ability some have to elevate and deepen their lives along with the lives of others. Inner flourishing can look like this: in moments of trouble it appears as courage; in times of prosperity if shows up as generosity; in the suffering of others, it emerges as compassion. - VMP
