Empty your cup so that it may be filled; become devoid to gain totality. - Bruce Lee The aim of life, its only aim, is to be free. Free of what? Free to do what? Only to be free, that is all. Free through ourselves, free to be sad, to be in pain; free to grow old and die. That is what our soul desires, and this freedom it must have; and shall have. - R. H. Blyth

Here’s a common sense approach to evaluating life satisfaction from author Chris Prentiss. In his book, Zen And The Art Of Happiness, he writes:
“If who you are and what you have is what you want, if you’re satisfied with the conditions of your life, congratulations – do more of what you’ve been doing and you’ll get more of what you already have. But if who you are, what you want, what you have, and your current conditions are less than what you want or are different from what you want, you have to make some changes, basic changes, inner changes. Failure to make those changes will find you fruitlessly continuing to seek the things you desire as the years pass by.” If contentment does not arise within your mind, even if you have everything you could ever want, you’ll be like a beggar. Those who are content and rid of clinging are always rich, even without possessions. —Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye

Many of us stagnate in lives that are going nowhere. We are either stuck in destructive patterns that undermine our happiness and snuff out our potential, or we run on a treadmill of routine that slowly kills off our dreams. - Shmuley Boteach
