Identifying with millennials and feeling like a millennial in spirit, I read with considerable interest this observation from Buddhist teacher Anam Thubten Rinpoche who says that "inspiring" spiritual developments are "taking place among many millennials. As a generalization, whether with or without the spiritual badge, many of them tend to care more about the well-being of humanity and animals, and the important issues of social justice and the ecology. They have fewer hang-ups, such xenophobia, prejudice, and tribalism, in comparison with previous generations."
Millennials, those born between 1981 and 1996, are re-shaping Western spirituality. I've long admired them for abandoning doctrines and concepts which simply don't work and embracing views and perspectives which are in tune with human spiritual evolution.
