After acknowledging that many people would answer this question by saying the mountains, the oceans, nature, the stars at night, etc., modern Chinese Buddhist master Hsing Yun offers his response: “The most beautiful sign in this world is a brilliant smile. However, there are people who are reluctant to smile. Their face is stretched tight just like a dead person. Who would like to get close to a dead person? A smile shows a courteous and friendly demeanor coupled with love and warmth. A smile is an international language. A smile is not differentiated by age. The young and the elderly can both smile.”
