Who are the most wise among the learned beings of the world? Those who use their hands to take up and put down what is appropriate. - 7th Dalai Lama
People are self-centered. They tend to think only about themselves and not think about the needs and feelings of others. This uncaring attitude will eventually lead to selfishness, non-enlightenment, stubbornness, stinginess and greed. This makes their human behavior more ugly and inhumane. - Hsing Yun
I believe in the principle of impermanence. Eventually, this virus will pass, as I have seen wars and other terrible threats pass in my lifetime, and we will have the opportunity to rebuild our global community as we have done many times before.
At this time of uncertainty, it is important that we do not lose hope and confidence in the constructive efforts so many are making. Be kind to yourself.
You may not be perfect, but you are all you've got to work with. Shoes are considered a 'torture chamber' by yoga instructors. Here's what yoga pioneer Richard Hittleman says about the wearing of shoes: "We must also say a word about the torture chambers in which the feet of most workers are encased during the workday. These are e known as 'shoes'. There is no doubt that most shoes have a damaging effect on the feet...It is best to walk without shoes as much as possible in your home and barefoot in your garden, in the country and at the beach." The world is led by the mind. All good and evil deeds are created by it. It revolves like a fire wheel, moves like waves, burns like a forest fire, and widens like a great river.
