First of all, what’s a sound bath? Here’s a simple but solid definition: Deep sound vibrations made by soothing instruments such as crystal bowls, gong, Tibetan metal bowls and more all designed to help you decompress. Here are ten amazing and powerful benefits of participating in a sound bath. 1. It eases pain. 2. Your muscles will relax. 3. You’ll experience a deep calm. 4. You will release stress from your body and mind. 5. Improved heart rate and blood pressure. 6. Negative moods and tension are released. 7. It’s a full body meditative experience but doesn’t require meditation proficiency. 8. Improved sleep quality (many people with insomnia fall asleep during a sound bath) 9. Improved focus and concentration 10. Balance and harmonize your energy centers (chakras) Finally, you can think of a sound bath as a mini-zen retreat (only 90 minutes). Additionally, you don’t have to pay for an expensive retreat but will gain the same benefits. When making offerings, the persons making them also receive what is given. For example, offering water may bring a calm mind, flowers a sense of beauty. Incense helps connect you to the earth, while firelit candles create illumination and symbolize destroying the darkness of ignorance. Inherent in each offering is a simultaneous giving and receiving of these gifts. - Earthlyn Manuel

The mind is more than a sense organ, but it is one of them. Its sensations, perceptions, and volitions need not be grasped and elaborated upon. We can choose the level of attention they require. They can be briefly noted and allowed to disperse, like rolling clouds. - Tashi Nyima
