Share your wisdom with other people. When you share your wisdom with other people, you touch their wisdom also. - Cuong Lu
Following the lunar calendar, this is New Year's Day in much of Asia and all of China. 2021 is the year of the ox. Here's some information from the Chinese Zodiak:
Men born in the Ox year are reliable and trustworthy. They put their entire heart into everything they do. They feel great responsibility towards their family as well. However, due to their confidence (almost arrogance), they don’t allow anyone to go against their rules. They hold your children to high expectations, even though it might be unrealistic. Women born in the Ox year are calm and gentle. They will never surrender to fate and rarely think of choosing an alternative. This no doubt leads to a life of struggles. But no matter what, they will walk down the road they choose until the end. Despite this stubbornness, they think and react quickly. Know that there are three types of people: inferior, mediocre, and superior.
The inferior, by any of the various means, strive for their own benefit to merely attain worldly pleasures. The mediocre turn their back on worldly pleasures and also refrain from unwholesome deeds, yet pursue a personal peace. The superior, through understanding their own suffering, deeply desire to completely end the sufferings of all other beings. --Atisha Easily seen are the faults of others,
Hard indeed to see are one’s own; The faults of others you bring to light Like winnowing the chaff, But your own faults you cover up As the trickster conceals a losing throw. Those who always find fault with others, Who criticize constantly, Their own cravings will grow, Far are they from the cessation of their desires. —Dhammapada 252-3 Dharma is a Sanskrit word with various meanings in Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism. There is no single word translation for dharma in Western languages. When Buddhists use the word dharma they refer to the written teachings of the Buddha found in various earliest Buddhist texts. Beings who rely on and are confident in the Dharma can realize the same truth and liberation experienced by the Buddha. In the Pali language, dharma is spelled dhamma.
Interestingly the Sanskrit word dharma, which generally refers to the 'teachings of the Buddha', also contains the meaning of 'good manners'. This strongly suggests that a Buddhist is an individual who exhibits considerably courtesy, civility and good manners. 1. Production - especially newpaper print workers and plant operators
