The people you hang out with
affect the level of your vibration and impact your behavior. Place yourself in the company of beings who elevate and inspire you. - Victor M. Parachin The person responsible for restoring yoga in the early 20th century was a yogic genius named Krishnamacharya. Even in the early 20th century, Krishnamacharya noted that women carried heavy responsibilities caring for others often at the expense of their own self-care, so, in the early 1930s, he wrote -
“The whole world knows that the housewife is the protector of the world undoubtedly. She gives education, food, wealth and place to live. The housewives are so fully occupied in taking care of children, grandchildren, relatives, others in want, dependents, household animals and others. But they have little time to take care of themselves…. It is therefore necessary for women to practice a few asanas of yoga with discipline, for the protection of the entire family.” One should love those who are virtuous and take delight when others perform wholesome acts. One should never be envious. - Sutra On The Auspicious and Inauspicious Conducts
Praise a person’s good deeds. Do not point out a person’s faults. Don’t speak of that which brings a person shame. Listen to a person’s secrets but tell no else. - Sutra on Upasaka Precepts

Those who harm others will themselves be harmed. Those who complain about others will themselves be complained about. Those who curse others will themselves be cursed. Those who attack others will themselves be attacked. - Sutra of Illuminating Light
Yet another research study indicating that consuming alcohol in any amount is detrimental to health. Here's what news sources are reporting -
Drinking one or two glass a day may increase the chances of having a stroke, according to a new genetic study published Thursday. (April 4, 2019) Contradicting previous claims that moderate drinking could prevent strokes and other diseases and conditions, this new study published in The Lancet links even low levels of alcohol consumption with increased blood pressure that can lead to strokes. The study comes after research published last year concluded there is no healthy level of drinking. In the new study, researchers found that one to two drinks a day increased stroke risk by 10% to 15% and that four drinks a day increased the risk of having a stroke by 35%. One drink was defined as either a small glass of wine, a bottle of beer or a single measure of spirits. "There are no protective effects of moderate alcohol intake against stroke. Even moderate alcohol consumption increases the chances of having a stroke," said study co-author Zhengming Chen from the Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford in a press release |
