October 4th was World Animal Day in case you missed it.
MISSION OF WORLD ANIMAL DAY
To raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe. Building the celebration of World Animal Day unites the animal welfare movement, mobilising it into a global force to make the world a better place for all animals. It's celebrated in different ways in every country, irrespective of nationality, religion, faith or political ideology. Through increased awareness and education we can create a world where animals are always recognized as sentient beings and full regard is always paid to their welfare.
The Dalai Lama offered his support for animals challenging humans to review their diet and move toward vegetarianism as an act of compassion toward our animal companions on the planet.
In a recorded message for World Animal Day on Sunday, the Dalai Lama urged people around the world to move toward more compassionate and sustainable ways of living that rely less on the exploitation of animals. “It is very useful to promote vegetarianism,” His Holiness said. “We should pay more attention toward developing more vegetables [in our diet].”
He also expressed profound concern over the extreme exploitation of animals and the growing consumption of meat from industrial-scale livestock farms in countries such as the United States, which are “environmentally very harmful,” although he also noted that “in modern times, some people are really showing concern about animal rights. This is very very encouraging.”

We would like to believe that attention is infinite, but it isn’t. That is why multitasking is a misnomer. The brain can focus only on one thing at a time. We take in information sequentially. When we attempt to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously, what actually happens is that we switch back and forth between tasks, paying less attention to both. This does not mean that we can’t walk and chew gum at the same time, of course. What we cannot do is concentrate in the same moment on two distinct, input-rich activities that require our attention. While we may be able to talk on the phone and stir coffee simultaneously, we can’t carry on a conversation and text at the same time without losing information and time. Studies show that when people are interrupted and have to switch their attention back and forth, they take—on average—50 percent longer to accomplish the task and make up to 50 percent more errors. That’s because each time you switch tasks, your brain has to run through a complex process to disengage the neurons involved in one task and activate the neurons needed for the other. The more you switch back and forth, the more time you waste and the lower your quality of work.

Afshine Emrani, MD., is a Southern California cardiologist and has been for several decades. He's studied the various medical and news reports about Covid 19. Here's his take on this:
1. Sweden was right about not locking down. Sweden is still right.
2. 95% of infected people are asymptomatic.
3. Asymptomatic people rarely infect others.
4. Herd immunity is real at 20% antibody positive in geographic areas.
5. 80% of people may be immune already.
6. Many people had Tcell immunity which cross reacted from other coronaviruses and which will last for decades.
7. Number of cases don't matter; hospitalization and death do.
8. Increase in number of cases toward the end of a pandemic in which we are not, does not mean increased hospitalizations or deaths.
9. Lockdowns only hurt people and increase the deaths by exacerbating other illnesses.
10. Reinfection, if at all, is very, very rare.
11. For most people of working age, Covid 19 is no different that the flu. For healthy people under 50, it is less dangerous than the flu.
12. Children don't get sick and are immune by cross-reacting Tcells because of their Thymus.
