A common experience when grocery shopping is how few items cashiers place into bags. Several times I've suggested they fill the bags with more items rather than use up so many bags containing only 2 or 3 purchases. And, several times the cashiers, all 'older' women, have said if they put more items into the bags then they cannot lift them and put them into the grocery cart. In other words, the cashiers don't have functional strength to lift a grocery bag. I wish they would come to my yoga classes because yoga builds muscle and strength – Here’s how:
* by using your body weight
* by doing poses to engage core, arms, shoulders, chest, legs, glutes . . .
* by building muscles without bulking up as experienced in weight lifting
* by developing strength along with improving balance, flexibility and stress reduction
* by maintaining muscle health while building strength
* by providing functional, natural movement rather than isolated movements common in gym workouts
* by offering low impact thereby avoiding damage to joints and tissues
