Forget about any claims that hot yoga (temperatures between 95 and 105 in a heated room) is more beneficial than any other yoga. Claims made by hot yoga proponents - that it causes blood vessels to dilate thus reducing high blood pressure and protects against heart attacks - simply aren't true according to research published in the journal Experimental Physiology.
Researchers from Texas State University who carried out the first study on whether it is the heat or simply the yoga itself which provides the health boost, concluded that it is the postures themselves that are responsible for better health, and not the temperature in which they are done.
