It's been years since I purchased any common chemical disinfectants from a store.  And, now of course, due to panic created by the media over the "pandemic", grocery shelves are empty where disinfectants are normally displayed.

Here's the good news:  you can make your own and yours will be friendly to animals, humans and the planet.  Here's the recipe I use for cleaning down my home:
  • Use an 8 oz spray bottle and add:
  • 6 drops tea tree oil (melaleuca)
  • 6 drops of lavender oil
  • 5 drops of Eucalyptus oil
After adding the oils into the spray bottle add 8 oz water.  The disinfectant is the tea tree oil while the other two oils create a pleasant scent.  Be sure the essential  oils you use are pure not diluted.
