The ancient sages of India - going back at least 10,000 years - detected a hum (OM sound) in the universe when they went deeply into meditation. They began to hum OM in unison as a way to harmonize the human self with the Universal.
Now, in 2017, scientists have discovered that the earth is constantly humming. Using Ocean-Bottom Seismometers (OCBs), they recorded the natural frequency of the Earth and uncovered its natural resonance.
To record the sound of the Earth, scientists deployed 57 of these spheres between September 2012 and November 2013. These spheres then made numerous recordings between 2.9 and 4.5 millihertz to finally capture the sound of the planet. For reference, that’s a recording more than 10,000 lower than what the human ear can detect.
Scientists have known the Earth had its own sound since around 1959, but it’s been undetectable until now. Nobody really knows what causes the vibration.
The hum also seems to be global. Despite measurements being made in the sea, the research team stripped back all other sounds from the ocean to be left with the Earth’s hum. They then compared it to the land-based sound research being done in Algeria and discovered the two match up.
The findings were published online Nov. 27 (2017) in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) up to 70 million Americans have sleep disorder. Added to that are the millions more who, while managing to sleep 7 hours a night, say they still wake up tired and drag through their days.
While sleep issues are complex and evade a simple fix, there is a yoga technique which many have found to be very useful. It's a combination of conscious release breathing while focusing on ten points of the body - the two heels, the two buttocks, two shoulder blades, two elbows and two points on the back of the head. Here's how it's done:
While lying down bring your attention to the two heels instructing them "release and relax. Then move up toward the two buttocks instructing them to release and relax. Then the two elbows instructing them to release and relax. Finally, the two points on the back of the head instructing "release and relax".
Cycle through until you drift off.
