Bodhi Day is an auspicious Buddhist festival which falls on December 8th honoring and celebrating the day in which Siddhartha Gautama sat underneath the Bodhi tree attaining enlightenment. It is a defining day for Buddhism. On Bodhi Day, followers will typically renew their dedication to Buddhism, spend additional time in meditation, reaffirm their commitment to help others achieve awakening, expand compassion and kindness to all beings.
