– Tashi Nyima
Life is not a race where we try to avoid obstacles. On the contrary, life is a series of obstacles that we face with more or less success. Challenges and obstacles are an opportunity to live as we choose: with love, compassion, equanimity, and 𑁋why not?𑁋 with joy. External conditions do not necessarily dictate our mental state.
– Tashi Nyima The Buddha is seen not simply as a long-dead sage, but as an “Awakened One,” — someone who has awoken to a deep and timeless reality that’s in contrast with our usual understanding of life. The Buddha called that reality “nirvana” — peace, the ending of suffering, the heart’s release. - Lama Shenpen Hookham

People who habitually practice methodical contemplation often experience the sensation of putting down a load or taking off a heavy garment and entering a silent, delightful calm, region. - Alexandra David-Neel
When we accept the universe for what it is rather than for what we wish it were, then we have a shot at finding fulfillment and joy. - Hersch Wilson
The West is not yet awake to the power of thought. - Christmas Humphreys
Becoming a buddha is like discovering a diamond in your hand. You are discovering yourself, not getting rid of yourself. — Mingyur Rinpoche
An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great. So just focus, and keep aiming. - Paulo Coelho
If you really wish to escape the worldly ocean to reach the dry shore of liberation beyond, the boat of lasting joy is the qualified spiritual guide on whom you must respectfully, inerrantly rely.
Avoid procrastination and indolence, be quick to prune your thoughts, and clothe yourself in the Dharma. Friends and relatives, land and monastery, money and wealth become obstacles to true Dharma; don’t rely on them! But be content, hold your own leash, cut through entanglements, and stay alone in retreat! - Auleshi Ngawang Lekshé |
